Cardamonics is the stage name for Rahul Bader, interdisciplinary artist and musician. Born in Burnaby, BC his music spans a wide range of genres from writing for modern ensembles to creating music for dance. His primary instruments are flute and percussion, and is a passionate beatboxer…..Rahul has training in playing for contemporary dance classes under his mentor Albert ‘St. Albert’ Smith, has completed drum circle facilitation training with world renowned teacher Arthur Hull, and completed a BFA in Music from Simon Fraser University. He credits his music education also to his father, once Bollywood actor/singer Sharad Kumar Bader and his footing in Indian Classical Music, as well, he credits his field school experience to West Africa studying traditional dance and drumming at the University of Ghana as also having a deep impact on his musical outlook. .. .. Rahul has created music for contemporary native dancer Starr Muranko performed at the Hague in the Netherlands, award-winning animation film “Amma” by director Aparna Kapur. He has also completed his first EP “Cardamonics- Olympus” along side hang player Zamir Dhangi and performed as an official outdoor performer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. He also loves cookies.
